(2013-2016) - One of the best kept secrets is in the desert! When Dee and Noble Dre* Ali visit California they do their best to visit Joshua Tree National Park. Here, the park encompasses a variety of ecosystems. A perfect mid-point location between Big Bear and LA, Joshua Tree is a place where the reset button can be pressed. Most important before you visit: Gas up - half tank minimum from the entrance, Bring lots of water and snacks, Wear sunscreen and sunglasses for protection because there are lots to see here and you want to be comfortable. The dessert is a world of its own.

Sacred Land

Joshua Tree is a great place for self-care, connection and reflection. Highly recommend Hidden Valley trail, it was incredible and accessible for all ages. Skull Rock, Cholla Trees and Cactus Gardens were also a must-see. A day here was not enough.

So cute and little. Joshua trees typically grow more than 20 feet tall (6 meters). They may take 60 years to come to maturity, and can live more than 500 years.

Beautiful even at night, Joshua Trees are a symbol of faith. Joshua Trees were named by Mormon settlers who crossed the Mojave Desert in the mid-1800s. The tree's unusual shape reminded them of the Bible story in which Joshua reaches his hands up to the sky in prayer.
